Founded in 2024 with 68+ members, AYEA connects young founders with mentorship, high-profile networking events, and partnerships with brands like Lexus of Edmonton and West Edmonton Mall. They needed a website as bold as the community they're building. We designed and built a fully custom brutalist-modern aesthetic from scratch: warm cream tones, burnt orange accents, handwritten script fonts, and 3D card effects.

Section Transitions
Custom SVG wave dividers create organic transitions between the warm cream and dark navy sections.
Event Showcase System
Custom carousel slider with snap scrolling, dot navigation, and keyboard support, showcasing AYEA's networking events, roundtables, and galas with photo galleries organized by year.
Custom Animations
Handwritten script text reveals using CSS gradient animations, staggered mobile menu transitions, floating elements, and SVG stroke animations, all performant with no JavaScript libraries.
Partner Marquee & Branding
Infinite-scrolling partner logo carousel with edge-fade masking and hover-to-pause, featuring Lexus of Edmonton, West Edmonton Mall, and 6 other brand partners.
The technical challenges were significant. We built a custom event carousel with snap scrolling and dynamic width calculations, an infinite partner logo marquee with CSS mask-image edge fading, and animated script text reveals using pure CSS gradient background-clip techniques. The site ships as static Astro HTML with Alpine.js only where interactivity demands it, keeping the bundle lean and the load times fast.
